Position Summary

Description:

The School of Arts and Sciences at the Albany College and Health Sciences invites applications for an administrative assistant. This full time position will have primary responsibilities supporting the Dean of the School and providing office/academic support for the faculty of the Department of Basic and Clinical Sciences.

Duties:

Duties will include but are not limited to interfacing with other administrative and academic offices on campus; providing general office support; scheduling of meetings; ordering of office and lab supplies; providing logistical support for the faculty recruiting process; maintaining the departmental budget; collection and collation of data for reporting purposes; maintenance of the department’s webpage; maintaining School and Departmental records; and processing of travel requests. Duties will also include academic support services such as Blackboard course setup; processing of exams; and the logistical aspects of student evaluations.

Required Qualifications

A.A.S. degree from an accredited College or University and a minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in an administrative support role or equivalent educational and professional experience associated in a highly professional environment. Candidate must have working knowledge of MS Office Suite (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), as well as Adobe Acrobat, familiarity with use of the Internet, a demonstrated ability to work in a team oriented environment, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The successful candidate will represent the Dean’s office on campus and must therefore be able to function in an academic and professional environment with attention to detail, tact and diplomacy. The candidate should also possess exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work with a diverse group of faculty, staff and students.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in an academic or other professional environment in which maintaining confidential information is required. Demonstrated technical competence in areas including complex computer applications, experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Blackboard, budgeting and vendor programs (such as Ariett and CAMS Enterprise).
